Great for teaching a newborn to taste dishes without hurting themselves, but difficult to pierce food with a fork. If you preload it for them, it's safe and good for studying. But as soon as they want to do it themselves, the fork becomes too difficult for the child. It is not easy for them to pierce food. I ended up switching to a metal baby fork. Also, the spoon is too big/wide for my 16 month old child's mouth. I had to switch to a slightly smaller spoon. Too bad. Their straw cups from this brand are great.
