That's exactly what I wanted!

I know reconditioned electronics is a gamble. Even if the people involved in the cleaning and repairs ticked all the boxes, who knows what injuries the car sustained in a past life. All this to say that my expectations were well moderated. Yours should be too! These are used items so be prepared to contact support if anything goes wrong and don't worry unless they fix it. If that doesn't strike you as odd, then buy a new car. In my case, the computer I received was immaculate inside and out. I suspect it had a few hours before it was renovated. It boots up quickly and runs almost silently (you won't hear it if nothing else in the room is making noise). No problem installing fresh Windows (don't throw the papers out of the box! You'll need them to get started). Unlike many refurbished PCs in this price range, there's true built-in Wi-Fi instead of one of those useless USB dongles. The included USB keyboard and mouse were HP-branded and appeared new. Many reviews of other machines complain about super cheap universal peripherals, so this came as a pleasant surprise. The kit also included a Displayport to HDMI converter, so you only need a standard HDMI cable to connect. Instead, I chose to buy a display with an HDMI cable, so I didn't use it. It's not a new computer, and it's definitely not a gaming PC (I use it as a light steam engine, but don't run anything with heavy computational or graphics demands), but it is exactly the product that was described. Mine came right out of the box but if it wasn't I'm sure the seller would have gotten it right!

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Clarity
