This is probably my first set of percale cotton sheets since childhood. Until recently researching cotton sheets, microfiber and satin finishes, and percale, I had no idea how sheets affect comfort and warmth. I've had microfiber for many years, but sometimes I wake up at night drenched in sweat. I recently tried a cotton sateen finish and didn't like the feel, so I tried these percale finish sheets. PROS: I like the feeling of freshness. Wrinkles are moderate when washed and dried according to the instructions. They're cool and comfortable unless you're looking for that slippery, shiny feel. NEGATIVES: I bought this particular set because the top sheet was 2 inches wider than most. "Stretch in the middle. The description says the bottom sheet fits an 18 inch mattress, which is completely wrong. After washing in cold water on gentle cycle, the bottom sheet barely fits my 13 inch mattress. The head and foot don't tuck in at all and the sides only fold in about 1 inch, so the bottom sheet will not fit a 5 inch taller mattress in any way. The corners fit well, although the elastic at the very bottom is very narrow (about 3/8″) and not as strong as others I've tried. The sides no longer tuck into my 13 inch mattress so this sheet set definitely will not fit a 14-18 inch mattress as advertised. Also, the top sheet has shrunk about 7 inches in length, so I can't pull the sheet over my shoulders on a cold night. I emailed the supplier Royal Bedding about shrinkage and they responded in less than 12 hours. weekends no less. They replace the sheets. The sheets may not have lived up to my expectations, but their customer service certainly exceeded my expectations.
