The gasket shown is an almost exact replica of the original steel based MGA 1500 rear gasket with a mid production gearbox. Unfortunately, the seal that actually arrived does not look like the picture at all, but is a more modern rubber-based seal. The good news is that the overall dimensions seem acceptable for this application, and it's probably a slightly better seal than what most MGA service companies supply. The outer lip is longer and more flexible, so it can better protect the inner seal from dirt.
