This peeler is amazing. I didn't think about this purchase at first. I only needed a knife, my old one broke. This Heavy Duty is made entirely of stainless steel. Can be washed in the dishwasher. It has a certain weight and is well balanced in the hand. The cutting teeth are razor sharp and have a dual function. You use a conventional side knife and slide it over the vegetables. Turn the peeler over and you can slice the carrots into strips. Cut carrots into string sized pieces for salads etc. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this peeler and I bet it will pass any chef's test of quality and performance.
