Do not fit exactly in the space they are designed for
These brackets hold next to nothing and tend to slip between the seat and console on my 2014 RX-350 (as listed in case anyone else has this vehicle). I insist on using these placeholders as it's very common for something to slip off the seat or console and fall off where it takes real effort to put it back together. So if one of them catches a dropped item, the gap filler will be worth it, but at the same time, they're more of a nuisance than useful.
