I needed something to raise my laptop and make better use of my desk space. It does the job. Now that my monitors and laptop are off the table, I have plenty of desk space and use the space under the straps for storage. I have two 24" monitors and a 14" laptop and the stand extends quite a bit to 46" - I don't think you can put anything more on it. The only minor gripe is that there's no option to mount a kickstand in the middle, so you have to be careful when adjusting the monitors.
