Review on Gore Wear Windproof Windstopper Turtleneck: Ultimate Protection against Wind and Cold by John Boyce

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thermal underwear for cycling in cool-cold weather!

I don't know how they came up with these products but these GOREs are a must have for riding in different temperatures: 60-70F: Well ventilated and moisture wicking. I would wear it under a lightweight half or full sleeve tank top 50-60F: keeps you warm inside even when it's windy. I add thermal underwear for the cooler temperature of the 50's. After about 15 minutes of cycling, the body generates enough heat to be comfortable, especially in windy conditions. 50-30F: This is where this product really shines. Keeps body heat inside perfectly. I usually wear thermal underwear and another windproof/thermal jacket over that. I don't feel any moisture accumulation even after an hour of cycling. The only negative - the price is now around $100.

Pros
  • Machine washable
Cons
  • Some maintenance
