I remember having a very specific color and trying many natural hair lightening techniques to get my hair a beautiful cherry chestnut brown in the sun to lend. or as I called it "Elena's hair" from the character portrayed by Nina Dobrev on The Vampire Diaries if you've ever watched the show and seen her hair in different lighting conditions you will know what I mean by cherry chestnut it is a great colour. Anyway, I've tried cinnamon masks and honey masks, and while I did notice a color change, it wasn't significant enough or happened fast enough for me to feel satisfied, so I decided to try something longer-lasting and quicker, but that's about it already for my curls. . I started researching different brands of henna and Light Mountain was one of the first I came across. I liked it because the steps were easy and it had a color chart for each of the brand's colors and their supposed effect on each hair color, and I found red to be the best option. It arrived quickly and was easy to use. I did a test with 3 separate strands to wash every hour so I left one for 1 hour then another for 2 hours and the last one for 3 hours but I seemed to get the color I wanted in just a few minutes Hour. When I was ready to do the full application I didn't use any metal and I only did enough for the hairs under my ears. My hair is about chest length and I only used 3 tablespoons, I judged the amount of water needed to make the paste and added a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. My friend helped me apply and I mixed the excess with the conditioner and applied it to my bangs and crown for a very subtle color change, because I wanted an ombre effect I left it on for about an hour . The first photo is before and after my first application on March 15th in the bathroom light. A week after the first use I did it again myself and haven't done it since. The 2nd and 3rd photos from the second app were taken in my bedroom in natural light and the last photo was taken today May 8th in natural light. For the most part, my hair is still dark brown and only really looks red in direct sunlight or just in a very bright room, like a south-facing bedroom, but I didn't want to be fiery red and didn't expect it. I just wanted a really nice natural looking auburn that is extra vibrant in the sun and it is. I was at the park with my roommate the other day and she was stunned at how beautiful the color was and I did the appliqué almost two months ago. I'm very satisfied, the color hasn't faded but I still have some henna in the freezer so I'm planning to use it again in June. I can not wait!
