Nice set. Most wires are useless, but they are necessary if the manufacturer wants to ensure the set is universal. The quality of the plastic is a bit flimsy, but as long as you don't do anything fancy with it you should be fine. The receiver has 4 switches and a trigger that change channels. I can understand that this can be an issue if you are in a place where there are a lot of photographers. However, this is not a problem for general use. The receiver (which goes to the camera) has a connection at the top for a flash or something. I wouldn't trust mounting an expensive flash on it if you're using the trigger as a trigger. I mainly use it as an external remote control and it's nice to be able to use it as a wireless flash in one tool.
