I used them on old NEC monitors in my PC tuning shop. My GPU has both HDMI and DVI outputs while my monitors only have VGA and DVI. So what I did is HDMI out to AV receiver for audio (it's better than RCA at 3.5mm and my PC doesn't have optical out), HDMI from receiver to DVI on screen 1 and these adapters on both End up . 40ft HDMI cable from GPU to screen 2. I had all these things from my old store so I didn't have to set anything up other than the price of these adapters and a 3ft DVI extender if 40ft HDMI was not enough. It's used for electrical circuits in cars and Spotify on monitors which don't support 1080p anyway so I don't see any quality loss, they work great! Of course there are better options, but I wanted to see how cheap I could install and use what I had.
