I have measured myself and several other friends and family with this tool, she and I have purchased rings with this tool and the fit has always been perfect. The ring gauges are made of plastic and are connected to a metal key wire that is threaded at the end so it can be opened. Find a metal set or check the "Ring Sizer Gauge". A ring gauge can also be found cheaply at Revain and is one piece (like a small tape measure). But in my opinion ring gauges are less accurate, you can draw them all the way or vice versa.
