Bought to replace an external filter which was very difficult to service. The advantages of this device are that it is very easy to set up and the filtering is amazing. I have a very dirty aquatic turtle and it cleaned the aquarium very well in about 24 hours. Water pressure from above is good. This gives the turtle the good flow it needs because it's a little chubby and I want it to have to work for the food. It perfectly destroys the surface tension of the water, which was not the case with hoses and canister filter nozzles, resulting in the formation of a film on the water surface. Replacement filters are available at a reasonable price and are easy to find. The downside is that I find this device very noisy. My tank is in an almost unused room. If I watched TV in this room I would send the filter back. The sound of water falling into the tank is pleasant. For me, this engine is loud. I'm not sure if this is normal or if I just have a bad block. In addition, the water flow cannot be regulated. Some days you need more circulation and some days you don't. This filter has only one level. Overall I like it and my turtle is happy.
