My son has special needs and has a habit of soiling his bed every morning. We used fully enclosed zippered vinyl mattress pads but had to replace them every month or so. They seemed to fit, but there are a few issues that don't fit our particular situation. 1- They are soft. Too soft, especially around the edges that aren't waterproof lined. The top will absorb some, but it will seep through the sides. Since my son often sits on the edge of the mattress. mmm no 2. Taking them off and washing them basically every day in a washing machine not used for our other laundry is wasteful. Again, if we didn't do this every day, it would be doable. 3- It has a nice deep "pocket" with a very stiff elastic all the way around. Surprising to most people, it's difficult to remove without dripping/spilling dirt. Again probably great for most families but not for us. I'm looking for full size TwinXL suitcases with no fluffy top and washable vinyl to protect the side.
