ClosetMaid really mean it when they say you should have one of these poles every two feet to support your hanger. I learned it the hard way. After opening my closet door one morning and finding my brace every three feet or so was not doing its job and my brackets broke I had a total disaster on my hands, I bought a couple of these and installed them all 1 1st/2nd foot to be sure. It would have been a lot easier if everything had been done right from the start. Buy more than you need (they are very cheap) because the clothes are heavier than you think.
