I was looking at some heavier and more expensive options but wanted something really light for hiking. The 80C is light, but it actually weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces (vs. the advertised 3.3 pounds). However, since it reaches 60 inches and has fairly thick legs, it's still very good. The other main reason I chose this unit was the bowl head adapter that came with it. My only complaint is that the bowl head locking handle is small and has a tiny knob that makes it difficult to grab and tighten. The grip on 90C looks much better. Overall, the 80C makes a very solid and well-made impression. I will pair it with a Fotopro e6H (1.5lb) gimbal head. If you are looking for a lightweight carbon fiber tripod at a reasonable price I would recommend checking out this one.
