Sometimes I want to connect my laptop to my TV in the living room as a second monitor. This is especially useful when I need to refer to drawings and charts for estimates. I mounted an HDMI keystone connector just below my TV to connect game consoles and anything else with an HDMI output. That fits the bill and I didn't have any HDCP issues or resolution issues. It's long enough to be a comfortable distance from the TV, but small enough to roll up and put in my laptop bag. Bought several of these and provided my clients with a conference table with an HDMI port. It's common for laptops to only have one DisplayPort out connector on their laptops, so once the A/V setup is complete I leave one of those and a 6" HDMI cable so you always have the right cable to hand.
