I was skeptical about buying this comb because many years ago the Denman brush was what pushed straight people to buy. The Denman was a failure for me, as were the wide tooth combs because they can't catch small tangles. I've been untangling my fingers for years. This brush really works and my hair got tangled the most. I'll tell you how to do it. Take one or more packs of clips meant for thick hair to divide into smaller sections. First. I apply a deep conditioner to my hair. I soak it in a deep conditioner. My hair loves deep conditioner more than other conditioners so I double the amount of conditioner. It's not good for everyone, but it's good for me. Secondly. I take a piece and unravel it with my fingers until I can no longer feel the knots. Use ALL your fingers, including your thumbs, to feel the hair for tangles. Third. I take this brush and hold it; not all the way down but I hold it by the sides where my teeth were and gritted my teeth hard. Further. Starting at the ends of my hair, I work my way up, positioning the brush at different angles and holding it as I see fit to work through the remaining tangles. Fifth - remove the fallen hair. Sixth. Then I attach a bobby pin to the part I just tangled. Seventh. I wash my hair when I'm done. With brackets. section by section. Wonderful! The ability to tilt this brush and hold it in different positions makes working with hair easier. I have mostly 4b hair with some 4A and straight at the back of my head. My hair is high density, thick and thick. Wool structure in appearance. My method doesn't work for everyone, but the product worked and I didn't have to throw it away.
