Managed to fit the old electronics into the new one. One problem was that the old ones weren't the same. It wasn't obvious until I opened the old ones. The first fit perfectly. Taken out of the old one, put it in the new one and snapped it on. The problem occurred with the second one I tried. This had an older battery in the electronics and was on the opposite side of the key fob than the case battery section. However, I took a pair of pliers and removed the tabs from the battery compartment and they seem to fit. It wouldn't break completely, but I had a rubber cap that used to fit over an old key fob and works fine now.
