Not what I was looking for

This review is only about the longest strap so I bought it. My charts are typically 8" x 10" or larger, so I haven't used a shorter guide yet. I was hoping that this would be a good option for recording and counting rows in knitting and embroidery / counting crosses, needles etc. but they aren't easy or I have to stop at the end of each row to remove the magnetic strip and to move it to the next row by first placing the back of the magnetic stripe up and then aligning the top so that it closes smoothly with the magnet and it rarely goes without ripples or off center so each row needs to be adjusted before you proceeding to the next row is very strong, so it takes some time for the top layer to lay flat on the bottom. Also, you can't see the previous or next row, and I didn't find it very useful for plots like intarsia, cables, and embroidery , as viewing multiple rows with the center highlighted helps me stay in place and lets me know if I'm matching a specific color in different Ber I'm ready. I will keep these in sync. I seem to have a lot of different projects and one day I'll use them while I'm in a bind, but I really WANT someone to bring back the wonderful line-a-timers that used to be readily available back in the 90's which was Cross stitch counting so popular. These were plastic colored strips that were transparent so you could see the other rows while still keeping the current row clearly visible. All you had to do was rub the plastic strip against the paper to generate static electricity and everything else was a breeze, moving the strip along the line took just a few seconds. In any case, I will continue my search for the perfect chart setup. I have a lot of them, but I've always liked Line-A-Timer.
