We have a 15 foot Christmas tree, it's a beast. Our original stand broke under the weight of the wood when we installed it last year and we've been looking for a new stand that works for a long time. This stand is HEAVY, it's really high quality. Love the mechanism it uses to fold up and down, it's incredibly secure and fits quite discreetly under our skirt due to the long legs that sit on the floor. I also think two tiers of wood screws make a huge difference for stability. The real test came when several of our adopted cats decided to jump off the railing and land in a tree. I thought it would be the end of both the tree and the cats, but the tree barely swayed. They were busy scrambling up and down branches and jumping off the tree onto other surfaces before I pulled them all out. I wouldn't recommend letting your animals play in the tree for safety reasons, but know that this tree stand will help your tree resist animal or mini-human attacks. If your tree is shorter, it's probably even more resilient than ours!
