Review on πŸŒ™ Enhance Night Visibility with Philips X-treme Vision +130% Headlight Bulbs (Pack of 2) (H7 55W) by Austin Arvayo

Powerful road brightness and light output from a 3700K halogen bulb!

Last week I bought these X-treme Vision 130 bulbs to replace the frustratingly weak standard halogen bulbs that came with our new 2017 GLE350 M. Benz. The vehicle uses a projector-type headlamp, in which a halogen bulb is housed in a tube with a lens that actively directs light onto the road ahead of the vehicle. The problem with halogen bulbs in projector headlights compared to older style cup-shaped headlights (which passively diffuse the bulb's light everywhere) is that the projector doesn't have much to do when you have dim amber bulbs. Projector headlights cut and focus the lamp's light downwards to avoid glare oncoming traffic, but you, the driver, can only see a short distance ahead of your car if the lamp inside doesn't illuminate the road well. It is extremely dangerous at night. Time behind the wheel, and it seems to me that Mercedes Benz wants customers to pay $80,000 to $90,000 for their GLE and GLS SUVs, which come with cheap, dim-amber halogen bulbs built into fancy, projector-style headlights. My priority is road brightness, and with the X-treme Vision 130 you get a noticeable increase in road brightness that extends well beyond 20 feet in front of the car. The color of the X-treme Vision lamp is NOT white as other reviewers have stated, rather the 3700K is white/amber. It's whiter than standard halogen lights BUT it's certainly not white LED or HID light. The brightness of the road has been greatly improved in both distance, width and intensity. See my photos as proof. In a combined image you can see a before image (standard halogen) and an after image (X-treme Vision 130), with the before image at the top. Other images show a beam of light and a projector clipped 10 feet from the wall. Even on the DVR, you can now see the brightness of the light on the road in front of the car. If you want the look of 4000K to 6500K and up but need to see at night, then LEDs are a cheap and effective choice. Halogen lamps in this color scheme, such as B. Diamond Visions give you the looks but sacrifice lamp life and road brightness. As for the X-treme Vision 130, I am very happy with my Revain purchase. I'd really like to get an all white look and keep the road bright, but LEDs and HID kits are not suitable for retrofitting my GLE350 sealed headlight housing. So I can only install a halogen lamp. The X-treme Vision yellow isn't too bad (it's really a bright margarine yellow) and it still looks good on my $70,000 Mercedes-Benz SUV.
