Very glad I spent the extra money on a contactless gauge. I feel it gets point to point faster and is more reliable than a traditional contact meter. I use this counter to ensure that firewood with less than 20% moisture is properly seasoned. Benefits-1. The non-contact counter facilitates frequent readings of the wood2. Easy-to-read LCD screen and large screen size3. Good screen lighting 4. Programmable sound signal for "Risk" and "Wet" levels5. Pleasantly embossed buttons Disadvantages -1. For a meter at this price I'd like to see a carrying case or at least a wrist strap so it doesn't fall off or get damaged.2. I'm sure there is a technical reason for this, but I can't understand why the instrument needs to be calibrated every time it turns off or turns off and on again. If calibrated accurately, it should maintain its accuracy. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the ambient humidity, but the way I'm using it takes a long time. It only takes about 15 seconds, but doing it every time is annoying.3. I wish the blood glucose meter had a more ergonomic shape that feels better in the hand. It's a good size but it's blocky like a 90's Game Boy (color included).4. The instructions are very short, with little content and small print. Conclusion - I like the blood glucose meter and am satisfied with the purchase. It was worth the extra money for the contactless feature. There are some small things that could be improved, but overall the product is good so far.
