This encourages catching of the fingertips, however.

I recently started playing adult flag football for the first time in decades. This definitely encourages you to catch the ball with your fingers instead of your palms. It's a simple concept and you could probably make something like this yourself, but it's probably not worth the effort. What I don't like is that the small ball is not attached to the band. As a result, you may need to push the ball back to the center of your palm between catches. Overall I like it and would buy it again.
