Review on 🧂 Versatile Totally Bamboo Salt Cellar Bamboo Storage Box: Swivel Lid, 6oz Capacity by Kenny Marozas

I ordered two round bamboo salt containers. Basically, I like the boxes very much. The quality of the wood is good and it looks great on my counter. They are small - hold less than 1 cup of salt. Perfect size for salt or other spices. Some people complain about the smell of these boxes and say they can't get rid of it. I didn't notice any odor from the box, but upon closer inspection of my nose I could smell wood and mineral oil. I washed mine well with soapy water and dried them, then left them with the lid open for a few days. The smell is not 100% gone as most wood smells somehow, but it is a very faint wood smell and is to be expected from a wood product. Someone complained that water had accumulated on the box, suggesting that the mineral oil could not be removed. I believe it is due to the nature of the bamboo and not the mineral oil left on the box. My reason for 3 stars is that a box came with a lid well attached, tight and properly aligned. Another box arrived with a loose lid, barely attached and slightly torn. I can be a little picky, but I had an example of a well-made box in front of me and wanted two boxes of equal quality. I sent the box back for exchange and received a new box with the same problem. This made me wonder if Revane ever read the reason for returning the item. If Revain had quality control the person who repackaged my order would have made sure I didn't get the box with the lid closed AGAIN! Thankfully, returns are free at Revain, but I hate wasting resources sending an item back a second time when there is a reasonable solution (like reviewing a customer complaint and resolving the issue before sending it back a second time) . If not I would give this box 5 stars for the unreliable quality. Great product when it comes with a tight, well-fitting lid. Now I'm sending my replacement box back and giving Revain another try at sending a good quality box.
