8-8-21 I left the same review but fully updated this review to reflect the time I've been using it. These panels work but not as advertised. I've had the opportunity to use them for a while and here are my results. - If you do NOT insert a fully charged (100%) battery. They will expire faster. They do NOT charge your batteries. I tried non-genuine batteries and they were useless, so I only use batteries sold by Arlo itself. They produce enough electricity to run cameras without batteries. I tried this. Obviously, if they don't have a battery, they stop working. The BEST way to get longer use of your current device battery is to have a lot of Sun Down activity. Your battery will eventually run out anyway. The best I can understand is to use them. When there's sunshine. The device prefers to use the energy generated by this panel rather than the battery. They actually seem to generate electricity on cloudy days. At least my app shows the "Loading" icon. When you turn off the device, hope that sunlight will charge the battery. It's not going to happen. I left mine off for 3 days, turned it back on and it still has the same battery level. - When your app says the battery needs to be replaced. It won't even turn on with a solar panel. When your Arlo camera is installed in an area with little to no traffic during sunset hours. You will most likely have a positive experience with these devices. If you have an Arlo camera installed in an area with heavy traffic during the sunset hours. With the BEST, you only extend the time between battery changes. My average range for Sun Down shots is 100-130 per night. While these panels work, they are NOT suitable for my needs. If you move a lot during the night hours. I would recommend either finding a way to set up the camera so that the batteries can be changed easily, or do what I had to do and buy a 30ft cable and plug it straight into an outlet.
