XS is perfect for my 4 year old.
My son is 42" (3'6") and weighs 40 pounds. He just turned four. but mine won't wear anything tight. He usually wears 5t and i would say it fits like 5/6 it's perfect for football games on a crisp fall morning =) PS try not to let that end up in the dryer (husband was warned lol).
