Doesn't really assemble upright

Unlike other reviewers, they are NOT shaky at all. My speakers are slightly overweight and the stands are solid. However, the curved steel base plate is not always flat. If you attach the vertical tubes of equal length and the two mounting points are not parallel to the floor plane, the vertical tubes will not be plumb and the speaker top plate will not be level. On one of the pairs (I bought two pairs) the bottom steel plate isn't straight and the two vertical tubes aren't the same length, causing the tubes to tilt noticeably while the top speaker plate tilts the speaker in the opposite direction. because one tube is shorter than the other. If you have any idea about geometry, you'll find this stand to be wobbly. The other three are acceptable. (I was able to rotate the stand so that the deviation from the plumb line was less noticeable by placing it on a corner of 2. So I got 1 of 4 that was fine, 2 that were tolerable, and 1 that was unacceptable) I take apart the wobbly one and swap the tubes so they all lean in the same direction and place the plastic washers between the base plate and the shorter tube. Hell, paying $140 for a pair. And I don't want to go back and get another one to mess with. I've built cabinets before so their geometry is easy to figure out and I can easily identify them with the plumb bob. Of all the stands, this is the most durable, attractive and durable. It's disappointing that the concept is bad and of course the quality control is lacking.
