Works pretty well on USB 3.0, a bit slow on 2.0

I would say the first thing that comes out of the box is that it can be used with USB 3.0 and 2.0 can, but I would recommend using it with 3.0. I tried it on 2.0 and it has a lag time between the movement and what's on the screen. I think USB 2.0 speed is not enough. This works great for those pros who only have a USB port. Actually, I can connect them to two different screens along with the display port. The cable is short and I think it's only meant for laptops as a lot of laptops currently only have USB 3.0 or mini-displayport or type-c. That being said, it works great if you're trying to hook it up to a new monitor or TV. It also allowed me to have an extra display for my gaming laptop that only has one HDMI port that I can use to connect to that laptop. The cable itself is pretty durable so you don't have to worry about chafing your neck. You can easily bend and tuck it away when needed. The female HDMI port does its job well, so it's not easy to turn it off. I'd say it runs great up to 1080P and I don't see any heat issues as far as I can tell. Keep in mind that this still depends on the capabilities of the integrated graphics. So if your graphics card isn't very powerful, you won't get very good quality. The device does not come with an HDMI cable. It does not require an external power supply and is quite light, so you can put it in a laptop bag, for example. Another thing I would like to say about this product is that the picture quality is good and there is no lag when using USB 3.0/3.1. As far as I can tell, no drivers are required for this to work as it installs automatically over Windows 7,8,10. Overall I think this is a great product if you are looking for a decent extension for your laptop or even desktop. It doesn't transmit audio, so note that it occupies a USB port, so I had to use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse with my Surface Pro.

Pros
  • DVI to HDMI Adapter
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
