I recently broke my favorite pot belly glass picture. Sadness. But now I've been using this one for a few days. Joy. This pitcher is quite tall and narrow. I wasn't sure I'd like it (I'm attached to my pot-bellied friend), but the larger design looks great and works well. I love that it's dishwasher safe - many other pitchers I looked at said they can't be washed in the dishwasher. The product description here shows a jug on the stovetop, but the instructions on the box only list a microwave or oven. Either way, borosilicate glass is known for its durability. But be careful of sudden changes in temperature - glass can withstand heat or cold, but only if it heats up or cools down slowly. The glass is a bit thinner than I expected but the borosilicate is strong so I'm hoping for a long life. I don't particularly like the flat grip (wish it was rounded) but it works well. A big plus is the filler neck - unlike my old jug, this one doesn't drip after pouring. The top is tight. The price is competitive - most glasses I looked at were in the same range. The size is good - holds the amount of water I normally drink in a day so I don't have to refill it too often and it's not so big that it's difficult to lift and pour out.
