UPDATE: This suit is falling apart much sooner than I think. First the crotch started to open, the lapel pocket and now the armpit of the vest. 7. My son has just turned 8 and is already a size 8 for most things, although some size 8 pants may be too long for him. So I decided to order a size 7 and a size 8 to see which one looks better. First we tried on size 7. Size 7 looked fantastic! The only thing that was a bit tight was the white shirt. We then started trying on a size 8, but the jacket was too big, so we went for a size 7. The sleeves on the size 8 jacket came to the middle of his fingers. While I know it can grow to a size 8 in about a year, I want it to look and feel like it will fit NOW. He will be baptized and I want him to remember this special time. He really loves the costume. He arranged a modeling show for his siblings. We are all very happy with the pockets in this suit! There is a pocket on the inside of the jacket, the two outer pockets can be opened. The white shirt has a pocket. There are two pockets on the vest. And there are two pockets on both the back and the front of the pants! This suit was also packaged, folded and shipped very well so creases are minimal. That means less ironing for me. :) The only thing that would be more perfect would be if a colored "yellow" tie and pocket square (which is detachable and fake) were available with Prime. Yellow is his favorite color. It's worth mentioning that the waist of the pants looked different than what I had read in the description. There was a hidden elastic on the sides to allow for 2 inches of stretch, which was cool. However, I thought that there would be an elastic part in the back of the pants. The pants we received did not. This wasn't a problem for us, but if your son is very skinny then the pants may be too big in the waist. For us, we needed the stretch that the hidden stretch panels allowed.
