Bought to replace my 01 Audi TT 1.8 ton engine. I accidentally broke the original when removing the thermostat housing. This one looks just like the original, only more orange. My original is very faded and hardened. The installation was real paint at first. I pressed, I pressed, I pressed and... . . it will not tear. Then it occurred to me to heat it up a bit to make the plastic more pliable. I used my wife's hair dryer and heated the end of the dipstick tube. Not enough to melt, or even too hot to touch. This is enough to make it more pliable. After that, a light layer of engine oil, and it burst immediately. Simply. Super easy. So keep it up. It's a good part, it's a lot cheaper than the original and once you figure out what's going on, installation is a breeze.
