I used simple, lightweight carabiners to attach accessories to the leash to focus on the dog rather than carrying things. This method worked, except the lid kept catching on things and popping open. I bought a two piece Titecougo carabiner to lock in the closed position. Worked great. It looks strong but not heavy. The D shape was perfect for attaching multiple items to a leash with just one carabiner, I used three. As a bonus, the color of the lock matches the color of the leash. I would buy the product again but I need to find another use for it. This carabiner seems to last a long time.
