The lock feature is a useful feature. My sister will use this to tie her service dog's leash to her power chair's harness so he can't pull her out of her chair. She was glad it had a locking feature and liked the size, weight and color.

I bought these for my dog who I have to name Houdini. He is box trained but suddenly learned how to open his cage. I used zip ties and standard carabiners and it still came out. These carabiners worked great. They do not twist and are very durable. I don't use them for their intended purpose but they are great for what I need.

My dog was able to bend this out of shape easily. The spring is broken and the latch doesn't close at all or doesn't reach the other side of the loop. Not very strong for the price. I am using this to attach a pull toy to a pole and it is no longer usable. I wish I had known before I bought it that it can bend. Maybe I didn't use it correctly? I assumed it was very high quality (climbing) just based on the price.

I used simple, lightweight carabiners to attach accessories to the leash to focus on the dog rather than carrying things. This method worked, except the lid kept catching on things and popping open. I bought a two piece Titecougo carabiner to lock in the closed position. Worked great. It looks strong but not heavy.
