Review on Wyze Cam Pan 1080p WiFi Indoor Smart Home Camera with Night Vision, 2-Way Audio, Works with Alexa & Google Assistant, White - WYZECP1 by Richard Deng

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing picture, features, ease of use at such a low price! How does it fit Nest?

This little camera is VERY impressive. I currently have a Nest IQ internal camera and have had a few Foscam internal cameras in the past. This Wyze camera delivers excellent image quality and has a very easy to use app. The fact that you get 14 days of free clip storage just blows the Nest camera out of the water. much more expensive than the internal Nest Cam IQ camera? *You will not receive continuous recordings saved online, only clips saved online. However, you can pop a $10 32GB microSD card into this Wyze camera and get continuous local recording (which means it's written to the card inside the device). You can view your entries in the app. HD quality gets you a few days of storage on a 32GB card, and more if you go for SD quality. * You cannot turn the camera on and off depending on whether you are at home or not. I personally really like this feature as it doesn't record us when we're at home. It just feels weird. Wyze support says they may add this via IFTTT in the future. IFTTT lets you control whether motion recording is on when you're at home. However, I found it a bit buggy. *You don't get Nest IQ facial recognition, which is very high-tech. I'm not sure how important that is for the internal camera. That's great for a Nest Hello doorbell. * You do not receive a monthly fee for a Wyze camera. You're paying for Nest Cam IQ. I can't believe this thing is so cheap and works so well. Two-way audio is decent. If I had one complaint, it's that the motor that rotates the camera is a bit noisy. I still give it 5 stars for that. I also think that the noise sensitivity is a bit high. like it's too good to be true. If you're looking for an indoor security camera, you've found it. TIP: I use this SD card in my camera and it works perfectly. Inexpensive and gets the job done when you need to record locally - . Silicon Power 32GB High Speed MicroSD Card with Adapter - New Edition NOTE: The camera is mounted on a mini tripod in the video. The camera has a standard tripod screw mount. You can get a small tripod for about $10. I like it because it elevates the camera a bit and provides extra stability, making it less likely to tip over. ----- 07/2019 HERE ARE SOME ANSWERS TO THE COMMENTS BELOW LINKS ----- Yes, it will continue to record to the cloud if you have an SD card installed. There is an Events tab on the Clip app's main page. You can also open a specific camera and click View Replay to view the ongoing recording. There is a delay when viewing on the SD card as the video loads. For example, if you scroll back the timeline 8 hours, there will be a 3-4 second delay when the video fragment loads around that time. Once it's loaded, you can move forward and backward instantly. - I will say that my 32GB card records just over 3 days in a room with little activity. I can't tell how this time grows as the size of the map increases. I'm not sure if 64GB will give you 6 days. Although it seems so. - For the person who thinks the app is useless, I'm sorry to hear you're having such troubles. I think the app works fine on my Android phone (don't know how on iOS). However, I believe that such things can happen. It's not a perfect app and they add features that can lead to bugs. Considering the price of this camera, the app is phenomenal, but some people may have issues. It's hard to predict. - Another question about the app is its efficiency - yes, it works much better than other cheap camera apps. There is a delay of about 2-3 seconds before the live video appears. I don't know Frost. However, this is highly dependent on your home network and the network you use on your phone when accessing it (e.g. cellular connection, slow wifi, etc.). - I'm not sure about the comment about the missing automatic reload. When do you lose wifi? I have to say that the cameras survive power outages very well. It was just three o'clock last night. Reloaded. I periodically reset my network, which caused my Wi-Fi to go down for about a minute and the cameras immediately reconnected to the network. I still use this and the regular Wyze camera. I still think these are SHOCKING good stats. I feel like I spent so much money on my Nest camera. I need to sell it and buy 5-6 Wyze cameras.
