I bought this for my boyfriend who was in an accident with an injury and was taken to the hospital. I am a retired 35 year veteran RN. As a nurse, I can say that nothing makes a patient feel better during recovery than a clean body and clean hair. You don't need water or shampoo. It's built right inside. You'll be amazed. However, I recommend a detangler if the hair cannot be brushed before or after shampooing. No one will ever know that you or your loved one haven't showered, shampooed and conditioner. They're a bit more expensive, but it's worth having on hand at all times. You can't go wrong.
