Review on GloFish Aquarium Kit: Stunning LED Lights, Whisper Filter, and Hood Included! by John Destruction

I think they are great. I let my kids keep them.

This is our second GloFish aquarium. The first is a 5 gallon tank that we have had for about 3 years. For GloFish aquariums in general I think they are great. I let my kids keep them in their rooms, they have a pet to take care of and a night light at the same time. The fish is quite tasty. I find the fish do better with a heater, which I'm sure isn't included in either the 3 or 5 gallon kits. There are pros and cons when comparing the 5 gallon to this 3 gallon. This 3 gallon has the light in the lid so the whole structure is more compact than the 5 gallon. The light is equally bright on both sets. For this reason I prefer the 3 gallon version. Both are acrylic so we sometimes have problems with algae. Many seaweed tools will scratch acrylic. So when buying a seaweed tool, remember that it is designed for acrylic, not glass. Both are equipped with a silent filter. I added a bubbler to both the 3 gallon and 5 gallon because my dad told me I had to do it. In a 3 gallon tank between the bubbler and the filter the fish ran too hard and I felt like it was killing them. So I took out the bubbler and the fish have been doing great for about a month now just using the heater and filter. Tank. The small grooves are small so it just fits on top. This makes me nervous because the light is in the lid and is powered by electricity not batteries. So, a little oversight will cause you to drop the lid that is connected to the tank filled with water. This is a problem for me as this tank was intended for a child. My solution was to take strips of tape and tape them to the back to form loops. Now the lid can't fall into the tank, but I can still lift the lid if needed. Maybe a cautious adult or teenager wouldn't worry about this, but I thought it was an odd design. The cap hasn't fallen into the tank since I worked with the tape. Plus it's a cool product and the kids love it.
