It's glue. It worked.
Bought black to match black painted innards in case anything comes up. Looks good. It's easy enough to work with, just stay away from anything you don't want it to stick to. Cools relatively quickly to an unusable temperature, the processing time between baking can be 2-3 minutes depending on the size and thickness of the ball. I don't have much experience with butyl rubber, maybe they're all the same, who knows. This worked pretty well for me. Well compacted, I haven't noticed any condensation in a couple of weeks.
