I never thought the little tool that comes with it would make such a big difference, but it makes the task of reconfiguring something a lot easier. It's awesome. So far I have always used a large safety pin. But this tool makes it so easy, I've had to change colors on sweatshirts and pants with drawstrings that didn't need to be replaced. Very cool. It was a bit difficult to thread the ends of the included strings through the holes on the included instrument as they have a piece of plastic on the ends. Although I found a solution. Slightly heat the plastic instrument holes with a lighter to make them pliable, then push the ends of the string in and out, or I found a wooden dowel did the job even better.
