I wanted to store harsh solvents in some of those clamping-style glass jars, but they were destroying the natural-rubber rings that keep the lids sealed. Since nitrile/NBR is much more resistant to chemicals than natural rubber, i thought i could use these sheets to make my own replacement rings. I did, and so far they are working much better than the originals. And the off-white sheets are exactly the same colour and thickness as the original rings, so you can barely even see a difference.Unlike some of the reviewers, i didn't find these to have any particular smell. If you get really up close they smell. rubbery. but that's all. The only minor issue i found is that the sheets do have some slight imperfections (dark streaks and wrinkles); that doesn't matter at all for my purposes, but maybe there's some use case where it'd be a problem.
