Not as durable in diagnostic, test and measurement tools
I have read reviews and observed that this design can fail. The voltage may be high and/or used longer than intended when the motor is running at a higher speed. I've also read that some people use automotive resistors which can overheat and damage the coil which can contribute to higher voltage.
