These cartridges require a stage 2 or stage 3 cleaning if the printer is not used for more than a day. The faded image is due to my HP8710 printer's "Print Diagnostics" feature after not printing for 1 day AFTER doing a Level 3 full cleaning 2 days earlier. The "best" image is obtained after cleaning at level 2, and the best image is obtained with operation at level 3. This requirement for thorough cleaning is not a one-time anomaly; I have to do this every 2-3 days. I can't wait to get those crappy cartridges out and put real HP cartridges in. Garbage.
