Good bulbs at a good price

A few years ago I upgraded my 1999 Chevy Tahoe to LED headlights, but a few weeks ago I noticed that after a while the low beams started to flicker. I did a little research and found that the most likely culprit was the daytime running light circuit, which sent a low voltage to the bulbs when the engine was running. The lamps had a built in voltage regulator and the low voltage would stress them over time, causing them to flicker and eventually burn out. These lamps must be immune to this situation. They fit better in sockets than old incandescent bulbs and shine nice and bright. The placement of the LEDs in the headlight is much more tightly controlled by the socket, producing a beautiful light that's focused where it should be rather than being scattered. There was a very small gap between the headlight mounting plate (which is plastic) and the bulb heatsink, but this was easily fixed by sanding down the plastic a bit. Can't test on bulb life yet but hopefully it's long, you have to remove the grille on this car to replace the headlight bulbs. It's a fairly simple task, but obviously someone in GM's design department could have made it accessible from inside the engine bay, but that's not the lamp manufacturer's fault.
