If you have a double XL mattress that you lug into the dorm for your sensitive child because they can't sleep on the slippery, plastic-coated, rock-hard mattresses that hostels provide , then this product probably made your eyes light up, as did mine. We have an organic latex mattress that had to be hauled up and down from the dorm as the dorm is closing for the summer. Putting a mattress on a car in inclement weather is a nightmare. We wrapped it in tarp and duct tape for the rainy ride home, but this mattress cover makes it so much easier. The "fabric" feels like a heavy tarp and the zipper feels solid. We'll only be using it twice per school year so it should last a long time. The position of the handle is a bit strange. I would have liked the handles on the sides. Also, it smells faintly of polyurethane and I'm airing it out in the garage right now. It is not a strong smell at all and I am very happy with this item. Update: used it to pull a mattress into my bedroom. The bag made things a lot easier as we had the mattress rolled up and strapped onto the roof rack and it held up well on the 40 minute drive to campus. The bag is still in perfect condition, no scuffs, scuffs or scuffs. It will be folded and kept at the hostel to be used for the trip home at the end of the year. Excellent goods!
