This is a very versatile table lamp that doesn't take up much space. I accidentally ordered two of these but liked them so much I kept both. Other table lamps I've had are either too heavy or awkward to place properly. This style is perfect. It's very durable, stays in a stable position and is high enough to be placed over a laptop, desktop monitor or even a sewing machine. It can be adjusted as much light as needed. I can't say anything about the timer function because I didn't use it. I do like the phone charging pad though. It keeps my phone accessible but out of the way at the same time, I can keep working by keeping it charged, and when I get a call I can talk hands-free and not worry about it running out of power after a long call.
