I love the jacket - it's very cute and goes with a lot of things. It stretches a little but not too much, light weight - not too heavy and stiff, not flimsy and feels cheap. I argued between L and XL for a while, ordered L, then canceled that order and ordered XL. The shoulder fit was my biggest concern - I didn't have to worry and now I regret not going for the L. I will wash and dry the XL and wear it for a while but will probably order an L in a few months. The XL size is perfectly comfortable, and while it's not huge, I was hoping the front would dangle when open - it's big enough to hang when closed, like it's zipped. I'm about 5'8 ok. 180lbs, 36DD-33-41 with shoulders which I think are a bit wider than most, about 20.5-21 inches wide, give or take a half inch for your own measurement and not much flex. My biggest problem when trying to find tops that fit me are my shoulders. Usually when the top fits well with everything else it will be tight on my shoulders making driving and raising my arms uncomfortable. ANYWAY - the L in this jacket wouldn't give me a problem as it's quite stretchy and has extra room in the front as advertised. If you're between sizes like me (like me, falls into both categories on the size chart) I would suggest going down the smaller size as it better suits the casual style often depicted with denim jackets, unless They plan on wearing it over bulky shirts and sweaters for some reason.
