Really. Exactly the same except for the Apple logo. Okay, this one is a few grams lighter. However, for everyday use, they are completely interchangeable. It's an Apple branded power strip that plugs into this charger (very disappointing for any Mac as my iBook G4 I had before came with one of these standards but I had to pay extra for my latest MBP) and it works without problems. I still have a late 2014 Retina MBP and have used 2 Apple chargers. The included charger broke within a few weeks of my Applecare supply expiring so they will last Apple for a while. When the replacement died I bought 3 more and the 3rd was months without a replacement. I found a good deal and recently bought a replacement MBP but still use the 2014 for travel most of the time. This charger will work with it (you'll need to buy a USB-C to Magsafe 2 adapter) with no issues. I've used this charger with my new MBP and my Note 10+ and haven't had any issues with either. But for the last week or two it's been part of my 2014 travel kit and I haven't noticed any real difference between it and the Apple 87W or the regular Magsafe 2 charger I've been using.
