Review on πŸ§₯ Ultimate Protection: Marmot Men's Magus Lightweight Waterproof Rain Jacket for All-Weather Comfort by Oscar Thompson

Keeps you dry but the zips are disappointing - poor design.

The jacket did the job and kept me dry in the rain. Having used other jackets, I expect the raincoat to be able to be used with one hand so that it can be quickly manipulated for protection or cooling in changeable weather. The plus size is slightly larger compared to other athletic/active wear I own. Wednesday was too small. I'm 6'1" and 200 lbs. Cons (compared to other raincoats I've had, GoLite + NorthFace + Off-Brand models) The velcro on the sleeves is not enough to close the cuffs snugly around my wrists close when I'm not wearing gloves - there should be more velcro around the cuff to secure the velcro hooks - terribly frustrating and when I was training in the rain water was seeping into my sleeves and soon after under my jacket into my clothes .The main center front zipper often catches on the flap resulting in it almost always having to be closed with one hand.I had to use my other hand to keep the flap away from the zipper when zipping. No button/velcro on the top of the front flap - so you have to zip it all the way down to close the top - seems like an odd request, but after other jackets m With buttons or velcro on the top, the zipper is really different and flaps are geared for one-handed use. The elastic drawstrings around the waist are sloppy and not designed to be comfortable to wear. pull to tighten them - you need both hands to manipulate them effectively. Zippers have the same problems as zippers - they don't open and close smoothly - so often I'll grab and pull the fabric around the zipper to get a zipper to open or close cleanly. Overall - it works for now, but I prefer my GoLite rain jacket (from the store) - but more thoughtful design/tech.

Pros
  • Attached hood can be adjusted for better face protection; Fabric stretches for freedom of movement
Cons
  • So far so good
