I can confirm that this remote control works with the Samsung ubd-k8500 Blu-ray player. After searching everywhere for a cheap remote, I gave this remote a try even though it isn't listed as compatible. This remote not only works, it's better than the original remote. A simple benefit is changing the battery. This remote uses 2 AAA batteries, not button cell batteries like the original remote. Also, you don't have to go to your toolbox and pull out a screwdriver just to change the batteries, damn I hate that. I haven't tried every button, but the main buttons used to control the BD player work (power, menu, pause , eject, ff, rewind, etc.) flawlessly. Definitely recommend.
