Review on πŸ“± JETech iPad Mini 4 Case - Smart Cover with Auto Sleep/Wake Function (Black) by Patrick Biletnikoff

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great case for the iPad Mini 4! Some issues with touchpoints.

iPad mini 4 review revised I have various JETech accessories. This product was purchased as the main protection for my iPad Mini 4. The surface is durable, not easy to absorb fingerprints, stains can be easily wiped with a cloth. The flip cover makes the stand nice and stable. The back cover provides ample protection while leaving the speakers and external ports open. Former users of Apple's genuine Smart Cover should be warned that with the added back/body protection in the back, you'll have something more to hold on to. That extra protection doesn't add much weight, and you probably won't notice it while seated holding a portrait in tablet mode. You'll find out when you lie in bed with your iPad Mini in widescreen mode. ***Updated*** I'm reviewing this review and deducting one star. In all respects I think this is still a great case but caution should be exercised for those who need protection but in everyday use you may notice some design flaws. It should be noted that JETech's Smart Cover-inspired front pocket does a good job of covering the screen, but unfortunately feels a bit folded in the "open" position behind the iPad Mini 4. As most of us will be using our phones outdoors. This position has some remarks. This is particularly noticeable for people who want to be as close as possible to their iPad or who are familiar with the Apple Smart Cover. When the Apple Smart Cover is behind the iPad, you hardly notice it. On the JETech model, picky users will feel it as a bulge behind the case. It's distracting enough to be noticed, and with the flap casings closing, it's more noticeable than most. The second point that discerning users will worry about is that the JETech iPad Mini 4 case does not fit flush with the iPad case. Mini 4. This is especially noticeable when holding the iPad Mini 4 in portrait mode or just holding it for a while. To make matters worse, the case's non-flush grip is made even more apparent by beveled edges. It's not pretty to look at, and many probably won't be able to ignore it. That said, I still give the JETech iPad Mini 4 case a 4 out of 5. I like the company's products and I think they deserve attention. Some people don't bother and hold their iPad Mini 4 in a way that is less tiring. Coincidentally, both of these design flaws are a deal breaker for me, and probably for people who want the smart cover but you need protection for the back cover, but you have to be picky about small details. Alternatively, had I known it was so inconvenient, I would have looked for a back pocket that fits snugly over the Smart Cover. Otherwise I really like the case, as does its weight, it's easy to clean and for the most part looks like a very high quality accessory for my iPad Mini 4.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • No automatic control
